Blepharoplasty in Tampa Bay
Would you like to rejuvenate the eyes to achieve a more youthful and rested appearance? At Eyelid Surgeons of Tampa Bay, we offer blepharoplasty to help patients do just that. We welcome patients from Clearwater, Tampa, St. Petersburg, FL and the world.
What is Blepharoplasty?
Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery, is a cosmetic surgery that can rejuvenate the eyelids, restoring vision and producing a more youthful appearance. The eyes are often one of the first areas of the face to show signs of aging. As we grow older, they may begin to droop or sag. This can cause a person to look tired, and in extreme cases, sagging eyelids can even interfere with your vision. A blepharoplasty procedure removes and tightens excess skin to eliminate these concerns and take years off of your appearance.
Am I A Good Candidate for Blepharoplasty?
If you have developed an aged appearance due to the sagging of the eyelids, or are experiencing obstructed vision, you may be a good candidate for blepharoplasty. However, the best way to determine if you are a suitable candidate for a blepharoplasty is to schedule a personal consultation with Dr. Mohadjer.
During your consultation, you and Dr. Mohadjer will discuss your cosmetic and visual goals in order to determine if a blepharoplasty is a good fit for you. At this point, we will be able to help you schedule your treatment or find a suitable alternative.

What is the Blepharoplasty Treatment Like?
The blepharoplasty procedure is performed using local, IV, or (very rarely) general anesthesia for your safety and comfort. It may be performed on both the upper and lower eyelids, or, it can be split into an upper eyelid blepharoplasty or a lower eyelid blepharoplasty, depending on your needs.
Treatment begins with incisions made in the folds of the eyelids, where any incisions will be virtually invisible. Then, excess skin and fat is removed from the eyelids to restore vision and rejuvenate the appearance.
What is the Blepharoplasty Recovery Process Like?
The initial recovery period following your blepharoplasty will take about one to two weeks. During this time, it is common to experience some stiffness in the eyelids, as well as some blurred vision. Patients are asked to refrain from exercise, swimming, and heavy lifting while they heal. After this recovery period, you will be able to return to your usual activities and the majority of side effects should have resolved.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect from Blepharoplasty?
After the blepharoplasty procedure, your results will become visible as any side effects fade. You can expect a restored field of vision as well as a more youthful and rested appearance. The results from the blepharoplasty procedure will last for many years to come, but they cannot stop the aging process. To maintain results for as long as possible, patients are encouraged to practice healthy lifestyle habits.
